Peaky Blinders

BlueBolt created the visual effects for the first five seasons of the legendary TV crime drama Peaky Blinders - gaining a BAFTA Television Craft Award nomination in 2014. Created by Steven Knight and produced by Caryn Mandabach Productions, Screen Yorkshire and Tiger Aspect Productions the series is set in Birmingham, England during the aftermath of World War I and follows the Shelby crime family, starring Cillian Murphy as the gang leader.

BlueBolt recreated industrial Birmingham from the beginning of the 20th century, delivering set extensions of Watery Lane, where much of the show is filmed, adding smoke and fire to give an industrial feel; helping create and develop the set of Charlie’s Yard, as it evolved throughout each season and digital matte painting work for establishing wide shots to create the period Birmingham skyline. VFX was used to enhance multiple shots with blood and weapon hits.
