The Current War

The Current War charts the rivalry between electricity titans Thomas Edison and partners George Westinghouse and Nikola Tesla, to develop an electrical standard that would power the modern world. Directed by Alfonso Gomez-Rejon and starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Nicholas Hoult and Tom Holland. BlueBolt’s work focused on recreating both Menlo Park Laboratory and Menlo Park House, a key location where Edison spent most of his time during the ‘War of the Currents’. BlueBolt created extensive DMP environments to recreate the Menlo Park grounds with 3D extensions for the famous laboratory and adding falling snow for the winter periods, as well as 2D elements of workers and staff in the grounds. In addition, BlueBolt recreated Niagara Falls, combining green screen plates shot for purpose along with additional footage of the Falls.
