VFX Production Co-Ordinator

VFX Production Co-ordinator – London based, start date: September

Skills/experience:

  • A solid track record of coordinating for 1-2 years within a recognised VFX facility.
  • A general understanding of VFX production pipelines and post production in general.
  • Good people skills and a proven ability to work in a team environment.
  • Experience with Shotgun and Microsoft Excel is a bonus. Skills in Filemaker Pro and Google Apps would be advantageous.
  • An ability to handle multiple tasks under varying degrees of pressure.

This role will require you to:

  • Support the VFX Producers, Line Producers, Editorial and other Coordinators in implementing project plans and meeting deadlines.
  • Run daily rounds on the floor with the artists alongside the VFX Producer.
  • Take notes and manage the Shotgun database in dailies sessions.
  • Organise reference materials and track incoming and outgoing deliveries to and from clients.
  • On occasion liaise with the client production team.
  • Have a good sense of humour – always essential!

Matchmove Artist

Matchmove Artist – 6 month Contract, London, start date: Imminent

Skills/experience:

  • Minimum 2 years match-move experience in a feature-film VFX facility
  • Proficient in 3D Equalizer, Maya and Nuke (knowledge of other similar applications an advantage.)
  • In-depth technical understanding of camera and filming techniques.
  • Knowledge of modelling matchmove geo in Maya preferable.
  • Previous on-set matchmove/data wrangling experience preferable.

This role will require the following:

  • Be able to learn quickly and troubleshoot logically
  • Work closely with department heads and VFX supervisors
  • Give concise time estimates for tasks to production and work to meet those deadlines.
  • Be team oriented, self-motivated, and able to drive tasks.

Mid Compositors

Mid Compositor, London, contract/freelance, start date: immediate

Skills:

  • Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years experience in a VFX facility, preferably in film.
  • Must have a strong knowledge of Nuke.
  • Candidates should have a proven track record of roto / prep prior to a full 3 years of compositing .
  • Must be able to integrate separate live-action and computer-generated elements.

This role will require you to:

  • Report to the VFX Supervisor or lead compositor.
  • Be team orientated, motivated and able to work a brief.
  • Be a good communicator and able to troubleshoot logically.

Head of Pipeline

Head of Pipeline – London

Skills/experience:

  • Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years experience managing a Pipeline team using Agile Scrum and a solid track record of having pipeline development experience in VFX
  • Experience designing and implementing 2d & 3d pipelines from scratch or progressing existing pipelines at SME and large facilities
  • Hands on tool development & maintenance across VFX disciplines working with standard industry packages
  • Strong understanding of asset management, production workflows and colour pipeline.
  • Excellent on the spot technical problem-solving as well as foresight to potential issues
  • Approachable with strong communication skills both written and in person.

This role will require you to:

  • Have a thirst to drive innovation in the team, staying abreast of technical developments
  • Provide strong team leadership to implement creative software strategies and solutions to increase efficiency and utilization
  • Manage the Pipeline teams day-to-day work, the development schedule  and the teams personal development with the HR Manager
  • Effectively balance the teams fire-fighting agility with tools development and R&D
  • Lead projects & oversee team’s projects as well a run own projects
  • Oversee day-to-day support to creative and production teams
  • Maintain relationships with external organisations to grow & strengthen BlueBolt’s pipeline
  • Work closely with the Systems team, department heads and the production teams
  • Report to the Directors & CTO

Desirable but not required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computing/graphics related programming
  • Experience using 2d/3d applications in a production environment
  • Experience in working in a SCRUM based development environment
  • Active member of the open source community

  • Must have a very strong knowledge of Nuke.
  • Experience designing the approach to effective shot execution to solve compositing challenges.
  • Must be able to integrate separate live-action and computer-generated elements
  • on-set experience not essential but useful.

This role will require you to:

  • Report to the Head of 2D / VFX Supervisors.
  • Be team orientated, motivated and able to work a brief.
  • Work with and direct junior and mid level artists.
  • Be a good communicator and able to troubleshoot logically.
